I L E - I F E proves that a Fair Trade and social business partnership can help to eliminate poverty and initiate social change.

I L E - I F E create beautiful pieces handmaded using Bronze for a simple reason: reviving traditional African skills.

In Africa, lost-wax-bronze is a thousand-year-old know-how that is passed down from generation to generation. The term bronze refers to various alloys based on copper, zinc, lead and tin, the proportions of which vary.

The African region renowned for its bronze art is the ancient city-state of Ifè, located in the southwest of what is now Nigeria. From the 8th century, Ifè was a major artistic center and, between the 12th and 14th centuries, the artistic expression of its bronze sculptures reached its peak. The magnificent bronzes produced by its artists are one of humanity's greatest treasures and are among the masterpieces of museums around the world. When Europeans discovered Ifè's bronze heads in 1938, they were quick to attribute their paternity to a Carthaginian colony that was said to have originated in Nigeria. Today, experts recognize that these statues represent a truly African tradition that has reached a high level of realism and finesse.

I L E - I F E vigorously selects its raw materials in order to offer quality, durable and allergen-free jewelry.
